Laying Hens                  

We have several types of laying hens, as we don't like to put all our eggs in one basket.  We have Cochins, New Hampshire Reds,  Wyandottes, and Barbed Rocks.  All of the layers have good dispositions.  They have their own yard with high fencing to protect them from predators.  Our laying chickens are are brought fresh cuttings from the field complete with lots of bugs in the field clippings to supply them with the fresh and proper nutrition to lay wonderfully rich eggs.  Their eggs are fertile as, of course, they have their own private, and very happy rooster. 

We hand mix our own grains and natural nutrients for our laying hens to ensure they are given the natural nutrients and grains they need without any of the additives found in standard  pellet feeds.


                  Meat Chickens   

Our chickens for meat are white Cornish Rock Crosses.  They are incredibly lazy.  They think they live in a resort.  They are supplied with much protection as they are not really good at defending themselves being so lazy, you know.  We hand mix their own grains and natural nutrients.  We supply them with fresh cuttings from the field to ensure they get their daily intake of the necessary fresh greens and bugs for their nutritional needs and digestive systems.  We try our best to make sure our meat chickens live happily and naturally through their short lives.  The result is a wonderfully tasting and weighted bird.

Our Belief

We believe all animals have the right to live happy, natural, and healthy lives, whether they are pets or livestock.  We recognize that people are omnivores.  We, as human beings, nutritionally require the proteins and nutrition provided by both plants and animals.  We feel we all have a responsibility, that even though we consume meat, we must treat those animals with the utmost respect and care.
